The Fine Print:

PRIVATE PARTY COMPLIANCE

By booking an event at Kuli, Client acknowledges and accepts all terms below. The event must qualify as a private party under California Business and Professions Code §23399.1.

Client acknowledges:

1. No sale or indirect sale of alcohol will occur.

2. The public will not be allowed into the venue while alcohol is present.

3. Kuli is not operated or maintained for drinking alcohol.

ALCOHOL POLICY — STRICT

Alcohol may be brought in only by:

• Client

• Guests

• A private bartending company not employed by Kuli

• A licensed alcohol catering service

Kuli will not provide:

• Alcohol

• Pouring, serving, or handling of alcohol

• Glassware, cups, or drinkware

• Ice, ice buckets, or coolers

• Mixers, garnishes, or syrups

• Bar tools or openers

• Bartenders

• Alcohol storage

• Trash removal for alcohol containers unless arranged in advance

Alcohol service rules:

• Alcohol may not be sold or appear to be sold.

• Drink tickets, fee-for-service arrangements, and “tips-for-drinks” jars are prohibited.

• All pouring and alcohol service must be performed by Client or Client’s hired vendor.

• All remaining alcohol must be removed immediately after the event.

FOOD POLICY

Client may bring outside food or hire caterers, food trucks, or private chefs.

Kuli does not provide:

• Plates, utensils, napkins, or serving tools

• Food storage, warming, or refrigeration

• Food service staff

• Trash removal for food waste unless arranged in advance

BEVERAGE & COFFEE OPTIONS

If Client requests coffee, pastries, or non-alcoholic beverages from Kuli, a separate Beverage Service Agreement will be provided.

STAFFING

Kuli staff may be present for:

• Door control

• Venue operations

• Safety

• Cleaning

Kuli staff may not handle alcohol in any form.

DAMAGES, CLEANING & RESPONSIBILITY

Client agrees to:

• Remove all décor, food, alcohol, trash, and personal items after the event.

• Pay for any damage caused by guests or vendors.

• Return the venue in substantially the same condition as it was before the event.

• Accept additional cleaning fees if excessive cleanup is required.

LIABILITY & INDEMNIFICATION

Client assumes full responsibility for:

• Alcohol brought to or consumed at the event

• Guest behavior

• Compliance with all applicable laws

• Vendor actions, including those of bartenders, caterers, DJs, and other hired providers

Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Kuli, its owners, staff, contractors, and affiliates from all claims, liabilities, damages, injuries, or legal actions arising from the event, including alcohol-related incidents.

EVENT TERMINATION

Kuli reserves the right to terminate the event without refund if:

• Alcohol is sold.

• Guests become intoxicated or unsafe.

• Illegal activity occurs.

• Venue policies are ignored.

• Capacity is exceeded.

• Noise ordinance violations occur.

• The public gains access to the event.

• Staff or property is threatened.

PUBLICITY LIMITATION

Client may not advertise the event as open to the public or promote alcohol consumption.

All events must remain private and invitation-only.

NOISE & CITY REGULATIONS

Client agrees to comply with City of San Clemente noise ordinances.

Amplified music must be approved in advance.

FORCE MAJEURE

Kuli is not responsible for cancellations caused by unforeseen circumstances, including weather, utility disruptions, or government action.

GUEST CODE OF CONDUCT — REQUIRED

Client must distribute or communicate these rules to all attendees and is responsible for enforcing guest behavior.

Respect for Venue & Staff

• Guests must treat Kuli staff respectfully and follow staff instructions.

• Harassment, aggressive behavior, and unsafe conduct are prohibited.

• Any property damage will be charged to Client.

Alcohol Behavior Expectations

• Guests must consume alcohol responsibly.

• No open containers of alcohol may leave the premises.

• Serving alcohol to minors is strictly prohibited.

• Over-intoxicated guests may be required to leave.

• No guest may serve or give alcohol to anyone who appears impaired.

Safety & Conduct

• Disorderly behavior, yelling, fighting, and unsafe activity are prohibited.

• Guests may not access employee-only areas.

• Emergency exits must remain clear at all times.

Cleanliness

• Guests must place trash in designated bins.

• Confetti, glitter, rice, and other messy décor are prohibited unless approved in advance.

Illegal Activity & Weapons

• Drug use and illegal substances are strictly prohibited.

• Weapons of any kind are prohibited.

Children & Minors

• Children and minors must be supervised by an adult at all times.

• Minors may not handle or consume alcohol.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By booking an event at Kuli, Client acknowledges and accepts all terms, including the Guest Code of Conduct, alcohol restrictions, and liability obligations.
